Scary thought - I am writing this blogg entry, on my mac which in running Win98! Thanks to a little progam called RealPC my innocent MAC can experience the joys of the Blue Screen Of Death and other such amazing windows things. And what is most cool is that the networking just worked! and printing just worked! and the sounds and CD are all working. Will see if the web cam works next [although I think I maybe pushing things a bit there]

So why? why put the evil ones OS on my beautiful glorious creation. Well, I can now test stuff, learn stuff, use the few things [like access and publisher] which only work on Win machines. And in the end - just because I could.

Oh yeah Rob got cable today - I fear he will become even paler than he already is, venturing into the real world merely to go to TAFE [to do the exams] and to collect the deliveries to his door. XBOX is coming soon!!!!

Another find thanks to core.org.au - Steve Ballmer some head microsoft dude shares his thoughts. Made in iMovie this is "Freaky...really freaky".
I needed to put something in my blogg so how about 1001 things to do with liquid nitrogen a translation from German which I don't think has anything too dangerous or offensive - I just skimmed it. Thanks to core.org.au

Issue 178 of The Paper is now online. Contains more PAC PIX and WWW. Enjoy :)
Let's be honest the boy is good. Talked about needing to get the hustle on so we can nab a midnight xbox birth on Monday - and sha-zam tonight Rob tells me he/we are are first on the list for a Parramatta Toys R Us midnight Xbox! You gotta love the man.

Now if he could just do something about the humid weather then I would be a very happy man.

hmmm - 20 days to go until XDay! And the best part is we get a free bag to put it in - oh yeah!

Power is just about back on for most of the people I know. Although the OPTUS network is still down. Rob is over here getting a renewed fix of internet surfing and having a phone that works [to talk to his lady friends]. As for me well, work is still tough although every one is slowly settling in. The new head teacher seems to be trying to get everything changed over in one go. Which is putting a lot of pressure on us all - I still feel a bit overwhelmed - but more wondering what my role at work will become and whether I will still get to be involved in any decisons that go on and more importantly get to face new challenges and learn new stuff.

Seems like we may go Win 2000 Server - the new guy is doing his MCSE on the internet - so I guess I will get to learn something about Win2000. I just want a server which is easy to set up and then forget and which both macs and wintel boxes will talk to happily. But then again, maybe I am asking too much.

I don't mind teaching maths again and although I can hardly believe it I am enjoying having Year 7!!! They seem to be a good class and keen to work. We'll wait and see but I think they will keep on being good to work with. Year 9 are Year 9, I just to be careful not to let myself be taken off the track by them.

Police at school today after some delightful student sent us nasty email. They signed up with a lovely email address but used their own name! Strange. True, it maybe someone else using the name, so hopefully the police can follow up the email headers and check with the service provider who it came from to confirm the sender. Had some pretty nasty stuff in it. Dunno why people think that they could send this stuff and not have us do anything. It's actually against the law in Australia to send threats by email so they opened up a lot mroe than they expected I think.

In a world that has so little I am so ashamed to be so happy that we have power back after some shocking storms on Saturday night - I mean, what, 30hours without power and we were lamenting the loss. Some people have no power, clean water, security, food nothing. Well I am happy and very appreciative to have power back on. /cam2 shows cable back up and running - after a weekend without the net I was getting withdrawals. XBOX arrives in Australia in less than a month and I am looking forward to that.

Feeling a bit disconnected from things at the moment - not sure why. Steve came home after church and after we had sat and talked about no power and 4/5 days before it returns he said, hey let's go shopping! and then I heard the fridge kick in. Such little things as these have helped to lift my spirits a bit. Well Kylie is around and laughing so I am off to heat up some hot cross buns and put the kettle on - yeah! love those integral energy workers.

I enjoyed bible study tonight - just a pizza and getting to know you type session - which I think went well. I feel better having done the first one and look forward to getting to know these people better and have a chance to see God working in our lives. Dunno why I felt the nervous tension I think it's just me - I will no doubt get it before studies for a while until I get into the routine and I guess feel comfortable around the group.

A month to go until the XBOX is here - Me and Rob are saving to get one. The temptation to have a day off will be huge. I wonder if I can call it a Family and Community Service day???? After all new family member will be moving in ....
Still pretty busy - thus no updates. Bible study starts tonight - hmm in about 30 minutes. Gotta keep moving. Looking forward to it, those who pray can pray that it all goes well and we grow in Godliness and have a great time doing it.

"Hell hard", personally not a term I like, but sums up how things are at work at the moment. Trying to deal with it calmly and in a civil way. Should settle down in a few weeks, once the new head teacher is settled in.

I enjoyed a visit from B2 and Jim last night - sat around speaking about God and stuff in our lives and prayed for each other. I love doing that with friends - it doesn't happen often enough, not even nearly often enough, especially with the friends who are around my age.

BB restarts tomorrow night. And to sleep..... nite.

And from the same place comes this UNIX humour just for Praetor - and other Linux lovers out there.
How microsoft carries out The Software Development Process [rec.humor.funny]. Ohh, I am a nerd, had a few laughs tonight thanks to this site.
goodnight.
A weekend of cool news is rounded off by my best friend from High School, Peter, telling me that Fiona [his wife] is pregant and due in August - woo hoo!!! One a strange note though he labelled me as his contact with reality, his guide to hip! I think it's a singles thing. Maybe he meant I was the last link to a relatively responsibility free life.

The wedding went very well and I enjoyed the day. Of course been praying that Dave and Rach have a great marriage.

It's been bucketing down rain here in jolly old toongabbie for most of the day and due to go on into the week.

Slowly getting back into the swing of teaching maths. Last friday a kid [a year 7 child!] told me, during my first lesson with the class, I was boring! It was my fault though. After the lesson i was about to hand back the magazine and I foolishly asked - "maybe I was boring you?"; "A little" the rat replied. He didn't get his magazine back until today.

Me, boring? Surely not.

Just a brief note - yesterday dave and rach got married - I was MC at the reception. YEAH!!!! A cool day that went very well. Interesting thoughts crossed my mind but I am off to church, for tonight I lead.

Maybe I will share said thoughts - maybe not.....
